A) Manufactured 1860-1868. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the one line Springfield address, the cylinder is marked with the 1855, 59 and 60 patent dates around the center and the matching serial number is marked on the butt and inside of the right grip panel. The left side of the frame under the grip, the front face of the cylinder and back of the barrel lug are marked with a "6" flanked by two dots. Blue barrel, ejector rod and cylinder, casehardened hammer and trigger, and silver plated brass frame. Fitted with smooth varnished rosewood grips. The pair come in a wooden case with a brass disk inset in the lid, a five compartment green felt lined interior. The interior includes two covered compartments with brass pulls. In the case is a James Dixon & Sons oiler, two cellophane sealed 50 count (full) boxes of 22 RF Short ammunition (1 Clinton Cartridge Co. and the other Winchester Repeating Arms) and a full 38 round bullet block.

Excellent . The revolver retains 97% original blue finish with some muzzle and edge wear, and a few minor scratches. The hammer shows strong faded original case colors mixed with a smooth gray patina. The frame retains 99% original silver plating which is darkening with age. The grips are good with 90% original varnish and showing a few small nicks along the bottom edge and overall a number of minor dents. The markings are clear. The action is fine. The case is good with a 5 inch crack in the lid, a 3 1/2 inch crack on the bottom and a few minor dings and scratches on the exterior. The lining is very good with some stains and minimal contact wear.

B) Described in "A" with "VI" on the right heel under the grip. Front cylinder face and back of the barrel lug.

Very fine. The revolver retains 70% original blue finish with some scattered flaking, edge wear and a drag line on the cylinder. The frame retains 99% original age darkened silver plating. The hammer retains 90% original bright case colors. The grips are also very fine with a small minor crack on the lower right panel and overall a few minor handling marks. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
