Cased Pair of Smith & Wesson Model 2 Old Army Spurtrigger Revolvers, #2483 & #2252, .32 RF cal., 5'' ribbed barrels, blue finish, rosewood grips. Ca. 1861. In rosewood fitted case with wirework and decorative central escutcheon, lined in blue cotton velveteen, with oiler, brass cleaning rod, and sealed box of Western .32 Short cal. ammo of somewhat later vintage. Condition: Revolver #2252 shows approx. 20% thinning and toning blue to barrel assembly, 70% thinning and toning silver plate to frame. Grips with general smoothing and light wear to varnish at highpoints. Revolver retains a crisp and tight action, with a bore that is fine to near excellent. Revolver #2483 retains approx. 10%-20% thinning and toning blue. Grips retain approx. 40% original varnish. Action locks up tight, bore is very good. Case with light wear, some refinishing, and minor repairs; interior is about fine. Est.: $2,000-$2,500/set.
