A) Ulrich Roos & Son Percussion Target Pistol. This lot consists of two identical Ulrich Ross & Sons engraved Percussion Pistols with case and accessories. The fluted octagon rifled barrel gauges at approximately .50 caliber and has a blade front sight. A "crown/V" proof is stamped on the barrel at the breech and on the breech plug, with a Liege "ELG" proof on the left side of the barrel near the breech. The number "1" is marked on the upper tang which has a notch rear sight. Scroll engraved casehardened hammer, lock plate, upper tang, breech plug, spur trigger guard and buttcap. The lock plate is marked "ULRICH ROOS / & SOHN / IN STUTTGART". The pistol has a set trigger. The stock has a high relief carving on the forearm with checkering on the grip area and a single barrel wedge. Complete with a wood case lined in green velvet and accessories which include a double face power flask with the image of a boy and stag, two screwdrivers, wrench, wad cutter, single conical bullet mold with cast round, two percussion cap containers with some caps, ramrod, cleaning rod, powder measure and key.

Condition: Excellent. The barrel retains 90% plus original blue finish with some minor thinning and extensive minor spotting. The remaining surfaces have faded to a silver-gray patina overall. The stock is very fine with some minor dings and scratches. There are a few minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering. The case is fine with two cracks on the front lid on a long side and a long crack on top of the lid, with some minor wear on the lining. The accessories are fine.

B) As described in "A" but with the number "2" marked on the upper tang.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 95% original blue finish with some minor thinning and minor spotting overall. The remaining surfaces have faded to a silver-gray patina overall. The stock is very fine with some minor dings and scratches and a few minor pressure dents with a minor gash behind the upper tang. There are a few minor nicks along with a shallow gash (left side) in the overall crisp checkering.
