Cased Pair of Engraved and Silver Accented Fecht Berlin Percussion Pistols -A) C.L.v.d. Fecht Percussion Pistol with Case and Accessories


A) Dovetailed German silver blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, with light scroll and floral engraving, "C.L.v.d. Fecht in Berlin" in silver with scroll accents on the top 3 flats of the barrel and traces of an inlaid "1" on the tang. The Fecht marking is repeated on the lock, with a silver accent wire inlaid into the stock around the lock plate and the two engraved reverse plates. Checkered pistol grip stock, with dark horn forearm and ramrod tips, floral engraver ramrod pipe and trigger guard finial, crossed cannon motifs and a finger spur on the trigger guard, silver wire inlay around the upper tang, and a floral engraved steel buttcap set into a flared horn base. With a black leather covered, green felt upholstered hardwood case, containing a mallet, screwdriver, ivory handled sight adjustment tool, spring compression tool, nipple cleanout pin and a brass powder measure.

Very good, showing a mixed gray patina on the steel overall, with a few hints of the original case pattern on the lock plate. The hammer screw shows mild tool marks. The stock is very good, with some light pressure dents and a few small chips around the trigger guard. Case is fair, with the lid coming apart at the seams, material loss, and staining. Mechanically fine.

B) Numbered "2" in silver on the tang, otherwise as "A".

Very good, showing a bright gray patina on the barrel and a darker gray on the tang and lock, with scattered spotting and handling marks. The stock is fair, with a few small cracks opposite the lock, some chipping and cracking of the pommel cap, and scattered dents. Mechanically fine.
