A) The Damascus octagon smooth bore barrel is re-marked "CLARKE DUBLIN" on the top flat near the breech. There is a gold inlaid band at the breech of the barrel and a circular gold inlay surrounding the touch hole. The underside of the barrel has a solid iron rib. The pistol has fixed sights. The barrel tang and spur trigger guard have an engraved patriotic motif. The trigger guard has a pineapple finial. The hammer and lock plate have a light floral scroll engraving with the lock re-marked "CLARKE". Iron furniture with a horn forend cap. For the hammer to be cocked the trigger must be pushed forward. The stock has a checkered grip area, single barrel wedge with silver oval escutcheons, monogrammed silver initial oval and an iron buttcap engraved with a floral blossom. The pistol has a horn tipped wooden ramrod. The partitioned case holds an unmarked plain powder flask, brass tipped wooden ramrod, brass tipped cleaning rod and iron bullet mold. The case has brass hardware.

Condition: Good as refinished overall. The pistol retains most of the refurbished Damascus pattern. All markings have been re-engraved. The hammer and lock have a smooth brown-gray patina showing traces of original case colors on the lock. The remaining metal surfaces have a mottled gray patina with traces of original blue finish remaining on the trigger guard. There is some very scattered minor pitting. The stock is very fine with a hairline stress crack on the left flat, some scattered minor handling marks with some scattered blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Action is fine. The case is fair with a cracked lid, some missing wood, and minor handling/storage marks with faded and worn lining.
