A) Manufacturer: British Model: Flintlock Pistol
This matching pair of flintlock pistols feature a 9 inch 54 caliber round barrel with a small blade front sight, a gold recessed "WALLIS/HULL" makers mark, and a thin and wide gold inlaid band around the breech end. There is a fixed notch rear sight mounted on the floral engraved barrel tang. The lock is engraved with a stand of flags at the rear, light floral designs and a double leaf border. Ahead of the hammer is a gold recessed "WALLIS" marking. The hammer is decorated with light floral engraving and the same leaf border on the sides and a leaf design on the upper jaw. The trigger guard has a patriotic motif with leaf bordering, and a decorative pineapple finial. Solid under rib with brass tipped ramrod, adjustable trigger, brown Damascus pattern barrel, casehardened lock and hammer, and blue trigger guard and buttcap. Mounted with a walnut half stock with a silver forend cap, semi-teardrop flats, checkered grip, engraved buttcap and silver thumb oval engraved with a belt marked "POLLET VIRTUS" around a rampant loin. The pair come in a wooden case with recessed brass handle and green fabric lining. In the case is a black leather shot flask.

Stock: walnut
Gauge: 54
Finish: brown/casehardened/blue

Serial Number: NSN
Condition:
Fine. With the exception of the trigger guard the metal surfaces have a smooth mottled brown patina. Some of the Damascus pattern is visible on the barrel. The trigger guard retains 40% original bright blue finish with a smooth dark patina on the balance. The buttcap has a mix of smooth dark patina and original blue finish. All of the gold inlay remains. The stock is very fine retaining most of the original varnish, and showing some scattered minor dents and dings. The checkering remains crisp. The markings and engraving are clear. The action is fine. The case is poor overall with a few minor chips on the exterior. The key was apparently lost some time ago and the lock mechanism has been pulled out of the case front and is attached to the lid. The interior has replacement fabric, partition wall pieces that don’t appear to go anywhere in the case, fabric loss and some stains.
