Cased Marek Signed Engraved First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Ivory Grips and Three Extra Cylinders

Manufactured in 1907 and subsequently custom embellished by Master Engraver Rudy Marek. The barrel, ejector housing, cylinder flats, hammer sides, trigger guard and back strap are decorated with floral scroll designs with a punch dot background and the underside of the ejector housing is signed "ENGR. BY R. MAREK". The top of the replacement barrel is marked with the one-line address in a panel, "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" in a panel on the left side, and the left side of the frame is marked with the two-line, three-patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The cylinder, hammer, screw heads, trigger, ejector rod head and ejector rod housing are gold with nickel on the remaining parts. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with a one-piece relief carved ivory grip with an eagle shield motif and "Liberty" marked scroll on the left side and eagle and snake motif with a "Don't tread on me" marked banner on the right side. The bottom left side is marked "S. TRAIL/5/05". The revolver comes in walnut case with green velvet lining. In the case is a brass cleaning rod with a wooden handle, a key and three extra cylinders. One cylinder is silver-plated and engraved with floral scroll and Western town motifs, one blue with floral scroll and punch dot engraving, and a gold inlaid band around the rear, and the third is nickel-plated with floral scroll and punch dot engraving on the flats, marked with the Rampant Colt on the rear face and "767 on the front face. There is also a aluminum plaque engraved "RUDY MAREK".

Very good as masterfully embellished and modified (see above) with 99% nickel and gold finish remaining. Finish loss is limited to the cylinder pin and a small area on the left side of the hammer. The ill-fitting grip is very good with age cracks on the bottom and a very pleasant patina. The markings are crisp and clear. The engraving is sharp. The action is fine. The three extra cylinders are all excellent plus with only light handling/storage marks and appear unused. The case is very good plus with a few light scratches and dings on the exterior, and some minor edge fraying and contact wear on the lining.
