Manufactured from 1861 to 1874 with this late production example having a London retailer marking hand engraved on the back strap. The top of the barrel rib has the one line Springfield address and the cylinder has the patent dates marking. The cylinder is also stamped with alternating British proofs between the chambers. The back strap is inscribed "J.H. CRANE, Sole Agent , 3 ROYAL EXCHANGE LONDON". Matching assembly number stamped on the barer lug and cylinder. Fitted with smooth grips with the right panel numbered to the gun. The matching London retailer partitioned wooden case is lined in green felt and the inside of the lid has a J.H. Crane retailer label.

Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 70% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The grip are fine with some minor handling marks and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with minor handling marks and worn lining. Most of the paper label remains.
