Manufactured from 1868 to 1881, the No 1 3rd issue is similar to the 2nd Issue with the exception of a fluted cylinder, birds head butt and ribbed barrel. The sides of the frame and on the cylinder chambers feature a scroll and punch dot engraving, with the scroll motif extended to the barrel sides and lug. The top of the barrel rib has the one line address/patent marking which has a border engraving with scrollwork at the breech. The top of the backstrap features a scroll and punch dot engraving with the remainder of the backstrap featuring a geometric engraving. The revolver is silver plated and fitted with pearl grips. Complete with a partitioned wooden case lined in red felt, a key and a box of UMC cartridges for this type of revolver (green label).

Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 30% of the original silver plating with the balance a smooth gray patina with some minor pitting. The grips are very good with some hairline cracks near the screw and a missing chip on the left panel at the butt with some mild handling marks. The engraving is crisp. The custom case is good with a replacement short side (lid) and some minor handling marks. The lining has some loss of material. The cartridge box is fine and has a protective wrapping.
