Cased Engraved Smith & Wesson Model 1 1/2 2nd Issue Revolver with Pearl Grips
Commonly referred to as the New Model or 2nd Issue 1 1/2 and manufactured between 1868 to 1875. This revolver features a half-moon front sight with notch rear sight. Standard one line address and patent dates on the top of the solid rib barrel. Tip up frame with spur trigger and five shot fluted cylinder. The sides of the frame feature a broad scroll engraving on the punch dot background with a geometric pattern on the backstrap, a floral blossom behind the hammer, and a panel scene portrait of a woman on the left side of frame. The scroll engraving extends to both sides of the barrel with the top strap and barrel rib having an engraved border. The cylinder has a broad scroll engraving on the chambers. Nickel plated with casehardened hammer and fitted with pearl grips. Complete with a green velveteen and silk lined leatherette bound wooden case and an empty box of UMC .32 RF cartridges.

Condition: Period re-nickeled, with 97% of the nickel finish remaining with some light flaking. The backstrap has a slight frost appearance. The hammer retains 90% of the vivid case colors fading to a gray. The grips are fine with a minor chip missing on the right panel and a repaired chip on the left panel, along with some minor scratches. The case is good with the leatherette showing some loss and minor wear and some minor wear to the lining.
