This example of a Remington New Model Army percussion revolver features a silver finish on the custom engraved barrel and frame, niter blue trigger and gold on the remaining parts. The breech and muzzle ends on the side barrel flats, frame, cylinder and trigger guard feature floral scroll and punch dot engraving. There are geometric designs on the upper breech end barrel flats and upper back strap and a feather design on the top strap. The top barrel flat is marked with the three line patent date, address, New Model marking. The matching serial number is marked on the frame under the grip and on the bottom barrel flat. There is an "R" on the left side of the loading lever, "D" on the trigger guard and "P" on the cylinder. Standard pinched blade front and frame slot rear sights and fitted with smooth ivory grips. The revolver is complete in a contemporary wooden case with red velvet lining. The case has 5 compartments and in the case is a bird and hunting dog flask, contemporary two cavity bullet mold, approximately nine conical and round lead bullets, a full Remington Arms percussion cap tin and a partially full UMC percussion cap tin.

Condition: Professionally custom embellished with 75% of the silver finish remaining and 80% of the gold finish remaining. The grips are very good with a couple of minor age cracks and an attractive dark grain. The barrel marking has been re-cut and the markings remain crisp and clear. The engraving also remains crisp and clear. The action is very good. The case is very good with some minor dents and scratches on the exterior and some minor contact wear on the lining. The flask has a dent on one side and shows an aged patina, and the bullet mold is very good plus.
