This matching pair of French dueling pistols feature a 11 inch fluted octagon barrel with a dovetailed blade front sight and marked "2298" on the bottom flat ahead of the forearm. There is a fixed notch rear sight mounted on the barrel tang. The hammer, lock, barrel tang, barrel plug, trigger guard, butt cap, and finial are engraved with fine scroll designs. The lock is marked "LAMOUROUX ARQ A BEZLERS". Finger spur trigger guard, blue barrel and casehardened remaining parts, and mounted with a one-piece English walnut stock secured by a single wedge, with checkered grip area and a steel butt cap. The pair are complete in a wooden case with brass hardware and green French fitted felt lining. In the case is a small powder flask, a brass ram rod, wooden cleaning rod, brass and walnut handled powder charge, iron single cavity conical bullet mold, walnut oiler and cap container, and walnut handled screwdriver and nipple wrench.

Condition: Very fine as period refurbished with 99% blue finish on the barrel showing some mild muzzle wear and a few minor scratches. The barrel plug retains 98% of the bright case colors. The hammer and lock retain most of the case colors and the trigger guard and finial retain 50% (mainly on the trigger guard) faded case colors with a smooth dove gray patina on the balance. The butt cap retains 80% case colors with a smooth brown on the balance. The stock is excellent with a few light pressures dents and handling marks, with sharp checkering. The engraving is crisp. The action is excellent. The case is very good with a couple of minor cracks in the lid and fraying on the edges of the protective fabric on the bottom. The accessories are all excellent.

The stock is excellent with a few very light scratches and handling marks, with sharp checkering. The engraving is crisp. The action is excellent.
