Bush as documented in a 1990 article on the Hatfield Rifle Company in "Inc. Magazine" (article included). The gun is also accompanied by the original letter sent to the consignor from Ted Hatfield of Hatfield Gun Co. which states that his company built the gun for President Bush in 1990. The gun was ordered by the president of a Fortune 500 Company, a personal friend and supporter of Bush. The letter states that there was an article written in a premier issue of Forbes FYI in the fall of 1990 (copy included). The man that ordered the gun was outraged and refused to pick the gun up. The letter further states that the company's Chief Engraver, Dennis Pitts, spent over 400 hours on the engraving. The letter goes on to tell about the 31 gold inlays and outlines special features. This extraordinary shotgun unfortunately was never presented to then President George H. W. Bush and was eventually sold to the public. This created a rare opportunity for us to be able to offer this extraordinary shotgun at our auction!
