Cased Colt Model 1862 Police percussion revolver, .36 cal., desirable 6-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #27908. This gun is in overall very good + condition showing approx. 30% original bluefinish and considerable muted case colors on the frame and hammer; crisp action, good bore, all matching visible serial numbers, very good grips, traces of original silver in protected areas of the brass straps thathave a lovely taffy colored patina; cylinder pins remaining on back of fluted cylinder; sharp markings. The original casing is in overall very good condition with tan colored lining and working key to the case’s lockthat has an old collection brass tag #224 that may be researchable as this lot is accompanied by a copy of an inventory list from the Snite Museum of Art/University of Notre Dame with this set listed andidentified as inventory #79.41.28; accessories include an Eley Bro. cap tin, Colt’s Patent bullet mold, combination nipple wrench/screwdriver, spread eagle flask, misc. lead cast balls and a Hazard’s skin
