Manufactured in 1863. One line New York U.S. America barrel address, "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the frame, and "36 CAL" on the left trigger guard shoulder. One of the cylinder flutes has the 1859 patent dated. Matching numbers on barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, arbor pin and wedge. Fitted with a smooth varnished one piece walnut grip. Complete with a partitioned case lined in green-blue velvet. Includes the following accessories: Eley cap tin, eagle motif double face powder flask, nipple wrench, correct "36P" marked blued, two cavity Colt's patent bullet mold, and package of five seamless skin cartridges.

Condition: Very good plus. The revolver has a smooth brown patina with 20% of original blue finish in and around the protected areas of the barrel and traces of original case colors remaining on the frame. There is some minor pitting (mostly on the cylinder). The grip straps retain traces of original silver plating with the exposed brass having a smooth aged patina. The grip is very fine with most of the varnish remaining, some chipping on the bottom edge (left side), and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine. The case is very fine with some minor handling marks and some wear to the correct lining. The mold retains 60% of the original blue with patches of pitting throughout.
