Cased Colt Model 1855 Two Side Hammer  Root  Pocket Revolver with Accessories
Produced in 1855. Pin and notch sights, with "COLT'S PT. / 1855" followed by "ADDRESS COL. COLT / HARTFORD CT U.S.A." with the pointing finger and Maltese crosses on the top flat of the barrel. Checkered hammer spur and smooth trigger, with 3 box shaped stamps below the hammer. Smooth one piece walnut grips. With a wooden case lined in brown velvet, with a brass 2-chamber bullet mold, rare original Root screwdriver with a wooden handle, U.M.C. percussion cap tin (approx. 15 caps), brass powder flask with American Eagle, shield and banner and lead bullets, round and conical.

Condition: Very fine as plated, showing approximately 95% of the most likely Hartley & Graham nickel finish, with scattered overall minor flaking. The grip is excellent with 95% of the varnish, some light cracks at the butt and scattered minor dings and dents overall. The bullet mold and flask have a smooth aged patina, with one leg of the mold turned inward and the spring absent from the flask. The case is fine with one partition missing, a 2 inch minor hairline crack in the lid, and some mild wear on the lining. Trigger spring is weak, otherwise mechanically good. All markings are clear and crisp.
