Cased Colt Model 1851 Navy Revolver. 7.5" octagon barrel is 36 caliber and has a great bore. The barrel reads Address Col Colt London in one line.The left side of the barrel has two English proofs. The frame, hammer and loading lever all have considerable case colors and the barrel, triggerguard and gripstrap are all like new. The cylinder has one 1" wide area of deep pitting and the rest of it is also almost new. This gun was most likely refinished a long time ago and put away. The wood grips are excellent with the exception of some scratches where they meet the frame. This pistol is in a great mahogany case with an original label with instructions for loading Colt's pistols and for cleaning them.The case is lined with a medium green material that's in very good condition. The accessories include a nipple wrench, bullet mold for conicals and round balls marked Colt's Patent, a black tin of percussion caps from Eley Bros. that is marked Made expressly for Colt's Pt. Belt & Pocket Pistols, a wood handled cleaning rod and a wonderful copper colored powder flask that is marked Colt's Navy Flask on top and James Dixon & Sons Sheffield in three lines below.There is also an extra mainspring and four extra nipples in a covered compartment and 5 very old cast lead conical bullets in another open compartment. This pistol is as tight as the day it was made.
