Manufactured in 1857. The complete matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard, back strap and cylinder, with the partial serial number "9373" on the loading lever, wedge and cylinder pin. The barrel, trigger guard and cylinder, were blue, casehardened hammer, frame and loading lever, and silver plated iron back strap. Dovetailed brass blade front and hammer notch rear sights. Very good. The metal surfaces have a smooth mottled grayish brown patina. The back strap retains 30% original silver plating with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The grip is fine with half of the original varnish remaining, showing some lower edge wear, and a few minor dings and handling marks. The cylinder scene is lightly visible. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. The stock is fine with a dark patina and some verdigris on the brass, most of the original varnish remaining and overall scattered minor dents, dings and scratches. The complete rear swivel assembly is missing as is one buttplate screw. The case is good with a few cracks and some heavy wear on the bottom, and some scattered minor scratches and dings on the exterior. The lining is faded in areas and shows some contact wear. The flask has an aged patina, the bullet mold has a silver gray patina with 25% scattered thin original blue finish and the combination tool is very good plus.
