BBL: 5 inch octagon
Stock:
Gauge: 31 percussion
Finish: blue/casehardened/silver
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 13557
Condition: Professionally modified using an original round trigger guard Model 1849 and altering it, thus resulting in a square back variation. The barrel retains traces original blue finish (mainly on the lower flats), mixed with smooth mottled brown patina. There are strong traces of the original blue finish on the cylinder with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The scene is completely visible and crisp. The loading lever shows much of the dark casehardening pattern. The balance of the metal surfaces have a smooth gray patina. The altered trigger guard and backstrap retain most of the replated silver which has darkened with age and shows some blistering on the backstrap. The grips are fine with some lower edge wear and scattered minor dings and dents. Clear markings. The action is very good. The custom case is very good with some minor warping of the lid and some staining and contact wear on the lining. The accessories are all very good.
