Cased Colt Model 1849 Percussion Pocket Revolver
Manufactured in 1863. One line New York barrel address, "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the frame, stagecoach holdup scene on the cylinder, and "31 CAL" on the left side of the trigger guard. The number "3" is stamped on the cylinder, barrel lug, and frame underside, with an additional number "4" on the cylinder. Matching numbers on the barrel, frame, and loading lever, with mismatched wedge and cylinder. The trigger guard and backstrap are also mismatched but are stamped with the same number (311244). One piece varnished grip. Complete with a wooden partitioned case lined in red velvet. Accessories include the following: E. Pluribus Unum eagle flask, "COLTS / PATENT" two cavity brass bullet mold, Eley cap tin, reproduction sealed package of 6 combustible envelope cartridges and key.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 20% original blue finish which is mostly on the lug with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The cylinder has a smooth gray patina with most of the scene remaining. The hammer, loading lever, and frame retain 30% of the original case colors with the balance a smooth gray patina. There is some scattered minor pitting (mostly on the barrel). The brass retains half of the original silver plating. The grip is very fine with some minor dings (mostly on the left side). The period rosewood veneered case is very good with some minor handling marks, some minor cracks along the grain, and a few missing chips. The lining shows some minor wear.
