Cased Civil War Surgeon’s kit in overall very good condition. The deluxe wood case is approx. 16-1/2” x 5-1/2” x 3” and is brass cornered with an unmarked lid plaque and brass hook and eyelet lid retainers; the wood is deluxe grained, red lined and brass hinged. The contents are all in good to very good condition and a rather complete surgical set including the following items: two different bone saws in the lid; two large surgeon’s knives; four additional surgical tools, several wound stitching needles, a small cased syringe and needles; a straight razor, a brass embossed pill box; a brass tourniquet clamp; two small magnifiers, an officer’s brass uniform button and a seldom found mechanical fleam (blood letting device) in its original chamois lined leather over wood case. A very nice set that would display nicely with Civil War era weaponry and artifacts. Richard Wolfe Collection. Est.: $500-$1,000.
