This is a nice example of a Colt Single Action Army revolver originally manufactured in 1980 and subsequently custom engraved and embellished. The revolver is nearly completely covered with cattle brand engraving. The brands are well executed in the typical western style with the recognizable "2 Lazy 2 P", running "W", circle "J" and many other famous Texas brands with intermixed floral scroll designs and a punch dot background. The only surfaces not covered are the front grip strap, the inside area of the trigger guard and the cylinder flutes. The screw heads have a punch dot design. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line Colt address, the left side "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .44 SPECIAL" and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The revolver is silver plated with gold plated ejector assembly, cylinder, hammer, trigger and cylinder pin. Standard blade and frame notch sights, and fitted with a one-piece pearl grip with red eyed steer head on the left side. Complete in a glass topped walnut case with green velvet lining and a "COLT" plaque on the inside.
