Manufactured in 1985. The barrel has a broad floral scroll engraving that surrounds the one line gold highlighted Hartford address and features an engraved band at the muzzle and a gold inlaid band at the breech. The broad scrollwork extends to the frame, trigger guard, back strap and butt. The sides of the frame have a gold inlaid border with the engraving incorporating mythical creature heads a the rear. A gold inlaid band is featured on the unfluted cylinder which has two wide sections of the scroll engraving. The ejector rod housing is also engraved and has "44-40" inlaid in gold. The engraving is a finished satin gray. Gold inlay is also featured on the sides of the trigger guard. The grip straps and frame are marked with the assembly number "W4113". The ivory one piece grip is numbered to the gun. The maroon Colt box is numbered to the gun with the label confirming the caliber, unfluted cylinder and barrel length and the shipping box with Colt Custom Shop label is numbered to the gun and confirms the unfluted cylinder.
