Cased Adams Percussion Revolver, #22862, .44 cal., 5-5/8'' barrel, blue finish, case hardened cylinder, checkered one-piece walnut grips, cylinder lock saftety, dovetail front sight, Tranter style side loading lever, with Crown-''V'' and Crown-''CT'' proofmarks to left diagonal barrel flat near muzzle. Topstrap marked ''Ja's Beattie. 205, Regent St, London''. Front right of barrel lug with small crest and ''LA/C'' (London Armory Co.). Accessories include a bronze two-cavity Robert Adams marked bullet mold cherried for ball and conical with blue English type spruecutter, marked ''54'' (bore); brass-tipped ebony cleaning rod; two rosewood-handled turn screws; English bag flask; and tall japanned tin of No. 18 caps, partial label marked ''London'', all in original purple velveteen lined oak case, with Beattie retailer's label in lid. Condition is fine to near excellent retaining approx. 94% lightly thinning and flaking blue. Case hardened cylinder remains vivid with only slight thinning to finish. Grips show minor flattening. Bore is fine. Accessories show light to moderate use with knackering to flat sides of bullet mold. Interior of case with oil staining and flattening from contact with pistol; exterior of case with light scuffs and impressions commensurate with age; partitions are somewhat loose but present.
