Dashing vintage matte-finish 10.5 x 13.5 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “Yes, Reg, you have a theory! Cary.” In fine condition, with slightly trimmed edges, trivial surface spotting, and some staining and rippling along bottom edge. The ‘Reg’ that Grant is referring to is Reginald Gardiner, a film and television star most widely known for his roles as a British butler, and made his breakout appearance in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1926 silent film, The Lodger. Gardiner often mused that his Beverly Hills estate was haunted, a place where he entertained high-profile Hollywood stars like Cary Grant.
