Carved wooden box with inset brass plaque in lid inscribed “Presented to JONATHAN WINTERS, SEMPER FIDELIS, from CLIFF ARQUETTE, Nov. 4, 1962”; approx. 14” wide by 8” in height and 9” deep. The box is in overall very good condition with thecarving on the front of the box showing an American Eagle with ribbon displaying the Marine Corps motto “Semper Fidelis”. The lid hinges are old style iron and both end handles are metal likenesses of seahorses. A great piece ofmemorabilia given by Arquette who was better known as comedian Charlie Weaver to Winters, who in addition to being one of the greatest comedians of all time, served our country during WW II in the Pacific Theater as a proud member of the USMC.Est.: $500-$1,000.
