Carved powder horn of contemporary era in 18th century style showing British Nat'l crest and map on back. The horn is of generous proportions measuring 15" across the curve and 3-1/4" across the wood plug inbutt. The horn has a natural greenish color and the carving finely detailed and inked. The neck and body of horn is well decorated and shaped. Map shows Fort Pitt to the West, General Braddocks position in the field andColonel Bouquets field along with other American positions headed east on the horn to Stoney Ct. The condition is fine to excellent and could find no makers signature. Made last 50 years. $400-$800.
