Finely carved from white marble, this elegant sculpture is a neoclassical representation of the Venus of Milo, inspired by the ancient Greek masterpiece attributed to Alexandros of Antioch. The figure stands in a contrapposto pose with detailed facial features, softly rendered musculature, and intricately chiseled hair pulled back with a headband. Her body is partially draped with a delicately carved cloth wrapping around her lower torso and hips, emphasizing the classical ideals of beauty and proportion. The statue is rendered without arms, consistent with the famous original housed in the Louvre, evoking the timeless mystery and allure of the Hellenistic goddess of love and beauty. The base shows natural wear consistent with age and handling, and the sculpture exhibits a subtle translucency typical of fine marble. No maker's mark or inscription is visible on the underside of the base.
