Lot of 11. Eight various clear embossed bottles from "F. J. STEINMETZ DRUGGIST," circa 1894. The bottles vary in rectangular size, from 3 1/2"Hx 1 3/8"Wx 3/4"D to 8 1/2"Hx 3 1/8"Wx 1 3/4"D, with the other 6 between. The smallest bottle has a purple cast. Another small bottle has an opalescent cast. Several of the bottles indicate "Opposite the Post Office" along with "Carson City Nevada" among their labeling. Steinmetz was among the first Nevada Pharmacist to receive from the State Pharmacy Board May 23, 1901. (3) clear embossed bottles are from "J.M. Johnson Pharmacist." The sizes are similar, approx. 5.5" x 2" x 1 1/8", and slightly smaller units. The "J.M. Johnson" lettering is script, and the "Pharmacist" and "Carson, Nev" lettering is block style. All these bottles are rounded corner rectangles. Most do not have no base embossing, but 1 Steinmetz bottle indicates "W.T. CO Pat PND 1894" on its base. - Jacobitz Collection -59663
