Carmine Infantino and Walt Simonson - Creepy #85,
Carmine Infantino and Walt Simonson - Creepy #85, page 16 Original Art (Warren, 1985). For the chiller "Hide and Go Mad," Silver Age legend Carmine Infantino penciled this harrowing showdown between a fearsome Yeti and a hunter. Infantino's pulse-pounding pencils were superbly inked by one of his artistic discoveries -- Walt Simonson. After he had graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1972, Walt Simonson recalled, "I took a portfolio of work that I had written, pencilled, and inked called The Star Slammers into DC Comics and through a series of happy accidents, ended up showing it to Carmine Infantino who was essentially editor in chief at the time. Carmine liked my stuff and had his editors give me work." The two artists make for a talented team! The image area of this piece is 10.5" x 15". Panels four and five (in the middle panel tier) were cut out and taped onto the page, and panel four also has an art correction pasted over a sound effect balloon; otherwise the art is in Very Good condition.
