Autograph lyrics for "Matchbox," signed "Carl Perkins," one page, 8.25 x 11.75, no date but circa October 1985. Handwritten lyrics by Perkins for his classic tune, beginning: "Well I'm sitting wondering would a match both hold my clothes." In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, stating that this was "written by Carl for the production of the legendary TV special 'Carl Perkins & Friends: Blue Suede Shoes - A Rockabilly Session,' which featured, amongst others, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Eric Clapton. Recorded at London's Limehouse Studios in late October 1985, it was broadcast on Channel 4 on 1st January 1986. Carl Perkins was one of The Beatles teenage heroes and as a tribute they covered a number of his songs…Many rock stars have acknowledged their debt to Perkins, including Paul McCartney who has remarked: 'If there were no Carl Perkins, there would be no Beatles.'"
