Item/Description: Dramatic, signed and numbered Carl Mydans (1907-2004) photograph of a " sandhog " tunnel worker at construction of the Queens Midtown Tunnel. Carl Mydans was an American photojournalist who began his career in the early 1930s with the Farm Security Administration documenting rural life. Thereafter he joined Life Magazine and became a renowned war photographer of WWII, continuing through the 1970s.
