Carl Barks - "Wanderers of Wonderlands" Limited Edition Print, #1824/5000 (Another Rainbow Publishing, 1981). Uncle Scrooge, Donald, and Huey, Dewey, and Louie uncover a fabulous treasure trove, while the Beagle Boys and Magica DiSpell lurk in the background of this colorful 8" x 10" print by "the Good Duck Artist," Carl Barks. When Carl Barks retired from doing comic books in 1966, he started painting in oil, mostly landscapes. Then, some years later, a fan asked him to do a Donald Duck painting, and the Disney corporation okayed the project. Some years later, around 1976, Disney told Barks that he was not allowed to do any more paintings showcasing the Disney characters. As a result, Barks continued painting in his cartoony style, featuring ducks and other waterfowl, that weren't Disney characters. In 1981, the luxury book Uncle Scrooge McDuck His Life and Times was published by Another Rainbow, and it included a signed lithograph of "Wanderers of Wonderlands" with every copy. Another Rainbow had negotiated a new agreement with Disney, so that Barks once more was allowed to paint the Disney characters. This beautiful print is hand-signed and numbered by the artist. There is some very minor color fading; otherwise the print is in Very Good condition. The book is not included as part of this sale.

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
