Carl Barks - Disney Caricature Ring Set (1996).
Carl Barks - Disney Caricature Ring Set (1996). Since the beginning of time, man has been intrigued with the allure of rings. During the middle ages, in an age of sorcerers, witches, and wizards, it was often believed that rings with magical powers existed. Carl Barks used this theme in his first complete story "The Mummy's Ring," in Four Color #29. How fitting then, to offer this nifty lot to the true-blue Carl Barks aficionado-- it's a boxed set of matching gold and silver character rings, featuring the face of Unca' Carl himself. The gold ring is made of 14k gold, and the silver one is sterling silver. The image on each ring is a sculpted version of Barks' self-caricature. Barks wears Donald Duck's distinctive sailor cap. The drawing was used on the cover to Mike Barrier's 1985 book Carl Barks and the Art of the Comic Book. The rings come in a handsome 2.75" x 5" x 1.5" wooden box, and are in Excellent condition. If you know who Carl Barks is, and if you appreciate and enjoy his definitive comic book Duck stories, especially Uncle Scrooge and the Donald Duck stories for Walt Disney's Comics & Stories, then you will treasure these handsome and unique pieces of jewelry, rings that will forever capture a bit of the Barks magic. 2 items

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
