C. Beck's?) cover is compelling, simple but accentuated conspicuously by the metallic silver lightning bolt. Our usual resources (Overstreet, CGC, Gerber's <B>The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books,</B></I> and the Grand Comics Database) were consulted, but only the latter two venture an opinion about the cover artist. Gerber opts for Kirby, while the Database says C. C. Beck. Kudos to whomever, and to you for bidding! CGC currently lists only one copy of this early issue that has been certified a grade higher than 7.5. Of our offering, CGC notes, "Very minor amount of color touch on cover," so minor that the Universal Grade blue label was used. Overstreet 2003 VG 4.0 value = $556; FN 6.0 value = $834. <B>Estimate: $600-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment.
