Captain Kangaroo screen-worn classic navy blue suit jacket from the early years of the program. In fact, the jacket is credited with inspiring the Kangaroo moniker due to its oversize pockets. The grandfatherly Captain delighted viewers with surprises or carrots for Bunny Rabbit produced from the giant pockets. Prior to the red suit jacket, Captain Kangaroo wore navy blue for the first 17 seasons of the series. Custom single-breasted navy blue suit jacket features four brass nautical-style buttons and grey trim in approximate size 40. An Eaves Costume of New York label is sewn within, with ''Captain Kangaroo'' handwritten on it. A piece of tape affixed inside collar area is labeled ''Zippered Pockets''. Two zippers run horizontally along the hemline interior. Approximately size 40. Near fine.
