Captain Kangaroo awards lot personally owned by Robert Keeshan. Lot comprises ten plaques awarded to Keeshan by different organizations: (1) The Vermont Association of Broadcasters to Keeshan as a Vermonter in 1998; (2) The Board of Directors of Anchor Savings Bank to Keeshan upon his retirement from the board in 1991; (3) New York City Elementary School Principals Association to Keeshan for his contributing role in educating children in 1985; (4 & 5) California Federation of Women's Clubs, for Outstanding Children's Program For 1960 and 1961; (6) Radio-Television Daily for Children's Show of the Year in 1959; (7) Phi Alpha Tau Fraternity honorary membership in 1983; (8) The State of New York Assembly for outstanding leadership to children and their parents in 1990; (9) The Women's International League For Peace And Freedom for ''…his approach to children [as] intelligent individuals…actions to eliminate violence in advertising and program content…his sensitive programming of music and the arts…appreciation of our cultural heritage…'' bestowed in 1963 and (10) Suffolk County, New York commemorating the naming of the new Family Facility at South Bay YMCA after Keeshan in 1990. Plaques range in size from 6.75'' x 8.75'' to 11.5'' x 18''. Awards are in very good to near fine condition overall, with just a few scattered nicks and scratches to frame edges.
