Captain Kangaroo awards lot personally owned by Robert Keeshan. Lot comprises ten awards bestowed upon Keeshan by different organizations: (1) Radio station WQSR ''Rousey'' trophy for ''Favorite Morning Man'' in the form of a Lucite obelisk with a satirical design in the center; (2) Mentors Make a Difference certificate from the Vermont Chamber of Commerce; (3) City of Philadelphia 3.5'' square lucite award with medal encased within; (4) South Florida Conference on Parenting solid glass star-shaped award from 1995; (5) Children's Hospital of Alabama one-ounce fine silver medallion encased in lucite sculpture of Alabama; (6) Honorary Big Brother plaque from the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Elkhart County bestowed in 1990; (7) Popcorn Institute plaque for the advancement of wholesome entertainment in 1959; (8) Governor of Long Island award from the Long Island PR Association from 1963; (9) City of New York certificate bestowed upon Bob Keeshan in recognition of his 25th anniversary as Captain Kangaroo in 1979 and (10) Association for Childhood Education International Friends of Children Award for Keeshan's ''…lifetime devotion to the development of the minds and hearts of all children'' in 1987. Plaques range in size from 6.75'' x 8.75'' to 11.5'' x 18''. Awards are in very good to near fine condition overall, with just a few scattered nicks and scratches to frame edges.
