Captain Horatio Hornblower (1951) - Miniature FX Cannon.
Made of bronze and steel.
This miniature was originally a working model that contained blank cartridges used to film the cannon fire between ships. Model retains it's original electrical components (untested) and ammunition chambers.
Measuring approx. 16.5" x 6.5" x 5.5".
Original miniature FX cannon used in the Raoul Walsh directed British naval swashbuckling war film 'Captain Horatio Hornblower' (1951), where during the Napoleonic wars, a British Navy Captain has adventures in Central American waters.
Starring Gregory Peck, Virginia Mayo, Robert Beatty and Terence Morgan.
