c1908 Lot of 2: great stereo view cards of the RR bridge over the infamous "Canon Diablo," showing trains rolling over the high tressle bridge over the steep-walled canyon. One photo depicts two Navajo Indians watching the Sante Fe rail train as it crosses far above them. These photos are in excellent condition, very clear with great contrasts. The vendors of the cards are the Keystone View Co. and Works Studios. Canyon Diablo was a ghost town that originated in 1882, built around the railroad bridge that was to be installed there. The original bridge was delivered and found to be too short, so the trains stopped here until the new bridge arrived. Bud Bassett Collection - HKA#65412
