Prolific and prodigiously talented French Romantic composer (1835–1921) of such timeless works as the “Organ” Symphony, the opera ‘Samson et Dalila,’ and the perennial concert favorite ‘Carnival of the Animals.’ Sepia-toned 3.75 x 5.75 bust portrait on light photo stock, signed above his head in pencil, “C. Saint-Saens.” In very good condition, with missing lower left corner, light overall wrinkling, and silvering to the darker areas of the image. Only the second Saint-Saens signed photo we have ever offered. Provenance: The Barry Hoffman Collection.
