The lot features an excellent relief hand carved Carnelian shell cameo & yellow gold necklace pendant. The piece shows an oval carved shell cameo with a single standing woman in early robes playing a Aulos (ancient Greek wind instrument, also called a tibia). The necklace pendant has a beautiful yellow gold construction believed to be of a 14K to 18K gold (not tested). Total weight is 4 grams. The piece appears to be from the 18th to19th century and is from the Anne Moore Estate, direct relative of Elias Boudinot President of the Continental Congress 1782-1783.
