From the beginning, as you know, I have been interested in this most worthy undertaking. It is in the truest sense a public educational institution maintained to develop and foster an understanding of the dramatic arts and of our history. I rejoice in the success achieved. It gives me great pleasure to present to the Theatre, through Senator Butler, an American Flag. It will be a token of my interest, and, I hope, an inspiration to all who have a part in the work.
