Not in Filer or other Holabird indexes. Inc. in Illinois. No. 38, issued for 500 shares to Isaac B. Hayes on Sept. 20th, 1888. Signed by president William J Pomeroy and secretary Chas. Gleason. Not cancelled. Brown border and print, gold seal, vignette of 4 miners working underground. Printed by Buxton & Skinner, St. Louis. Heavy folds with separation, pieces torn off, areas of heavy toning. Please inspect. 9.5 x 12" Could not be located. Others have argued it is a Colorado mine, noting that the Acacia Mining Co. of Cripple Creek absorbed a Calumet MC, but 1888 would be too early for Cripple Creek. Searches on newspapers.com only turned up one mention of the incorporation in 1888, but no location. Ken Prag Collection
