1886 - Original “County of Mono” bond certificate, No. 4, issued on 20 February “1886/7” to Adolph C. Weber, the president of the Humboldt Savings & Loan Society [Ref: Vol. 3., State Assembly Journals Appendix, session 28, 1889, p. 42], for $500 in gold coin. Signed by A. H. [Kastir?], auditor, and Lloyd Goodnow, Chairman of Board of Supervisors. Hand cancelled in red ink across the document. This document measures 16.25” x 24”, and in its handsome frame: 25.25” x 33”. Features a trio of central vignettes of miners and their labor. Included are 35 coupons, numbered 40-6, each for $12.50 and endorsed by the auditor. Any markings on the reverse of the bond cannot be read unless the item is removed from its frame and tan/brown matting. Very good condition: crisp, clean, and creased from folding. -61380
