Organized and chartered in 1881, The California Southern Railroad Company was a subsidiary of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. Connecting San Diego with what is today Barstow, CA, the line formed the western end of the Santa Fe’s transcontinental railroad connection to Chicago. Portions of the line are still in use today and are among some of the busiest freight and passenger routes in the U.S. 1928, California. Stock certificate for one share. Black / White.
