The necklace is believed to be from a California Indian tribe and features North American grown Eucalyptus tree seed necklace and padre glass wound trade beads. The trade beads are in white, clear, cobalt, green, and amber. This is a rare necklace as little to no Indian artifacts have Eucalyptus seeds. The Eucalyptus trees are native to Australia and greater island region and were brought to the US California Region during and after the gold rush. This was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming where the Ernst Family had the collection displayed.. The pieces were original collected and sold by Otto F. Ernst in the 19th century. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker and would purchase Native American items to sell in his Saddle shop and Catalog. Otto Ernst Saddlery Sheridan, Wyoming. The necklace is from the late 19th century and shows good condition. Measures 26" long strung.
