California Gold Rush autograph letter signed ''William P. Christian'', dated 25 November 1849, from Benicia, California. Letter reads in part: ''I am in exceeding good health and have been ever since I have been in California. I have had work the most of the time at 14 dols per day...I have not been to the mines yet but I think I shall go when the rainy season is over...'' Two-page letter measures 7.75'' x 10''. Light foxing throughout, else very good.
