California Dress Dirk by Will & Finck, San Francisco, CA with fancy multi-patterned select Abalone grip panels, pictured pg. 14 of “Knifemakers of Old San Francisco” by Bernard Levine., also pictured “California Best” by Brad and Brian Witherall pg. 128. The knife measures 9/16” overall with approx 5” blade. The tip shows “tweaking” from prying or twisting and blade has been professionally polished. The blade and markings are otherwise very good. The silver hilt has 8 silver partitions (on each side) with select panels of jewelry quality Abalone in varying shapes and sizes that are absolutely exquisite. The hilt is fine to excellent plus. No Scabbard. One of the Fanciest. Hugh Hayes Collection. This knife was found with a broken blade and was professionally restored by Hugh Hayes who disclosed this fact when he displayed the piece.
