Lot of 11 different. Includes 4 by Watkins (1867-75), two by Keystone, Underwood & Underwood, Kilburn, and others. Views of stages going through the hollowed out sequoia (Great Tree in Mariposa Grove), Grizzly Giant, Guardian's Cabin, and more. The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, located in today's Yosemite National Park, was first brought to wider attention in 1857 when Galen Clark and Milton Mann documented its immense trees, including the Grizzly Giant and the Wawona Tunnel Tree. Recognizing its significance, President Abraham Lincoln in 1864 signed the Yosemite Grant, placing the grove and Yosemite Valley under state protection‚-the first U.S. federal act to preserve scenic natural areas. The grove later became part of Yosemite National Park in 1890, helping establish the model for modern American conservation.
